10 things to do if you are confronted with mind-boggling new technology

Technology is ever changing.

And, unless you're a self-proclaimed techie you probably feel, like most people, overwhelmed by the constant change.

Good news-it doesn't have to be so tough.

Here are some facts to remember next time you confront a machine or piece of equipment that boggles your mind.

1. There's always a manual somewhere-you just have to find out where it is

2. There are most likely courses available to show you how to use it

3. If it's a new piece of office equipment, you can request the salesperson to provide training

4. Someone in the office knows how to use it-you just have to find out who it is

5. Clearly, someone thought it would make your job easier-find out how it can

6. You can experiment with the buttons and see what it does-unless you kick it, it probably won't break

7. Make friends with the members of your in-house Information Systems department; they can probably help-they're loaded with techies

8. The internet has information on every thing ever made-you can undoubtedly find something online to help clear up your confusion

9. A male somewhere in your family probably knows something about it-call them up and rule them out one by one

10. Everyone has had challenges with technology at one point or another-so worse come to worse, if all else fails, you can always blame it on the new technology!
